MVNOs Envisage Increased ARPU and Customized Customer Experience

Hyderabad – 1 Aug, 2018 – XIUS, a leading supplier of mobile technology, mobile payments and enterprise offerings has unveiled its 'vData Core', a patent-pending telco grade platform. This platform, the first of its kind, incorporates Machine Learning (ML) at the core and equips Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) to boost revenue and thrive.

Today, a majority of Communication Service Providers' (CSP) revenue is generated from data services. It is estimated that by 2021, the average data consumption will be 52 Exabytes per month with 70 percent of mobile data being video. This makes it necessary for CSPs to be well prepared in effectively monetizing the unimaginable surge in data usage.

With vData Core, XIUS will enable MVNOs to offer personalized data packages and enchant their end users with customized customer experience through Machine Learning and Network Function Virtualization (NFV). Additionally, vData Core's capacity optimization provides visibility into the entire infrastructure making it possible to meet changing service demands. MVNOs can leverage vData Core's capabilities to improve their operational efficiency, increase agility to market and deliver services to end users more effectively.

5G expects network slicing for various customers and classes of customer which MVNOs can now achieve through NFV. AI based slicing and crucial configuring of varied products, services and plans for each customer is made extremely simple by vData Core.

One of the key challenges faced by MVNOs is that a greater portion of Average Revenue per User (ARPU) is generated through data services but lack of innovation has led to flattened revenue and increased customer churn.

G V Kumar, CEO and Managing Director of XIUS said, "MVNOs have been fast to capitalize on the modern day consumer's data needs and understand that consumers often pick an operator based on data packages. It has also been proven that they can grow their business through customer-centricity. vData Core will enable MVNOs to understand their customer and innovate based on consumer needs. It will help them to efficiently manage and monetize data and ultimately enhance customer experience".

XIUS vData Core helps MVNOs beat competition with on-the-fly and quick launch of data plans, add-ons and combo packages. The Machine Learning (ML) driven auto-generation of personalized product / service offerings to individual subscribers improves customer loyalty and reduces churn. Over a period of time, with extended and vigilant use, it is likely to boost data ARPU by about 15 percent and transform product engagement by about 25 percent.

XIUS is offering highly attractive commercial models to interested customers.

Electroneum Signs Agreement with Telecommunications & Payments Giant, XIUS

January 2018 – Electroneum, the mobile-friendly cryptocurrency has formed a groundbreaking relationship with the mobile and payments technology provider, XIUS which has an active subscriber base of over 65 million people.

XIUS is the telecom operating brand of Megasoft. XIUS has a 25-year history of innovation, having filed more than 120 patent applications in total. In partnering with Electroneum, XIUS has shown extraordinary clarity of vision and belief in cryptocurrency as a truly viable payments solution.

The XIUS 'Payment Manager' software services 1.2 million agents, dealers and distribution points spread across 9 LATAM countries. Its reach and specialist payment processing capabilities will be invaluable as Electroneum works with XIUS towards integration of Electroneum as a payment method across Latin America. This partnership will also facilitate the promotion of Electroneum's mobile mining app as a way to offset phone costs.

This is a huge leap forward for Electroneum as it works towards becoming the first cryptocurrency to enter mass usage. Since raising $40m in its ICO, with close to 500,000 registered users, Electroneum has worked hard to become a viable proposition for telecommunications companies to build integration with.

This agreement, the first of several currently under way, firmly establishes Electroneum as one of the most exciting cryptocurrencies in the world.

G V Kumar, CEO & Managing Director of XIUS said, "We are delighted to partner with AEROVOYCE and will work with them in delivering a broad spectrum of impactful services. The VNO route is a good option for companies to address customers that are underserved. XIUS MSP is a comprehensive solution that is 'Made in India' with all components built in-house at the Global Delivery Centre in Hyderabad. The solution is proven across the world with deployments in Europe, USA, Latin America, South East Asia and Middle East. XIUS was instrumental in launching one of the oldest MVNOs, Boost Mobile, USA (now part of Sprint) 14 years ago. It is this versatile experience that makes XIUS the natural choice for large as well as medium sub-base VNOs.

"ADPAY, the first national VNO of Indian Telecom will be spending INR 300 crore in three years on VNO PAN India rollout and plans to rope in at least few million subscribers in rural as well as tier-II and tier-III cities of the country" AEROVOYCE Founder and Chief Executive, Sivakumar Kuppusamy said. "A highly dependable technology offering and globally proven operational expertise were the key criteria considered while selecting XIUS. XIUS has deep expertise and several years of experience in deploying telecom and VNO solutions across the globe and this will definitely help AEROVOYCE to offer the best user experience to its subscribers", he added.

AEROVOYCE selecting XIUS as the preferred VNE partner comes at a time when XIUS was already making long-drawn plans for investments in its drive to support the Digital India initiative. Apart from offering their technology, XIUS has assembled a 'One-Stop Shop' team of companies that offer VNOs the best chance of success.

As Virtual Network Operator (VNO), companies buy airtime and bandwidth in bulk from existing operators and then offer services under their brand. This model would offer consumers more choices for voice and data services and allows existing Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) additional options to monetize unused spectrum.

XIUS ties up with Hebitel, UK to tap the $4 billion MVNO market in India

The alliance aims to leverage local market intelligence, technical expertise and global MVNO experience

HYDERABAD/LONDON - April 05, 2016 – XIUS, India’s major supplier of telecom and mobile payments technology and United Kingdom’s Hebitel Ltd, a global provider of MVNO management consulting services today announced a partnership to help companies launch Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) in India.

XIUS and Hebitel are partnering to offer clients a one-stop-shop for MVNO launches in India. XIUS will provide the important technology and integration expertise. Hebitel will provide experienced personnel and services that include license application, market identification and business planning, experienced interim staff and all launch activities necessary from an MVNO perspective.

The MVNO concept has evolved over the years and many of the present day mobile subscribers are customers of MVNOs. For instance, about 10-15 percent of all mobile subscribers in Europe are subscribers of MVNOs. With TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) recently approving rules to regulate MVNO in the country and such services now awaiting final ministerial approval before becoming a law, the MVNO landscape in India is expected to scale the next level of growth. Independent research firms validate this and predict India to be one of the world’s largest markets for MVNOs.

IDC forecasts total mobile services revenue in India to reach US $37 Billion in 2017. If Indian MVNOs are successful in following European experience, the market could easily represent a US $4 Billion opportunity very quickly.

“Successful MVNOs know their market niche and focus on servicing it well,” says Paul Nicholas, Managing Director of Hebitel. “Across the world we see very successful MVNOs targeting youth, roaming markets, international calling and others. With the immense scale of the Indian market we know that many niche services will spell huge success for our MVNO clients.”

Launching an MVNO is not without risk, however. History shows that not all MVNOs can expect to succeed. It is essential that an MVNO launching in the Indian market is aware of international best practices and is able to adapt to the specific demands of the Indian market.

G.V. Kumar, CEO of XIUS notes that “With a presence of nearly 25 years, XIUS operates both, in Indian and international telecom markets. Our Mobile Services Platform (MSP) manages more than 350 million phone calls a day. Having built our own successful business in India gives us the local knowledge to provide MVNO entrants a real advantage in this complex market.”

The invention relates to a smart integration of dual architecture contactless SIM into mobile devices and describes the method of efficiently performing various financial transactions. The patent filed in February 2010, was awarded by the US Patent and Trademark Office in July this year.

NFC as a technology is extending beyond applications initially envisioned by the market. End users have started to believe that using their mobile phone for payments is safe and also addresses privacy concerns. Woburn, MA – March 28, 2012

XIUS, a leader in delivering innovative mobile technology solutions for mobile operators worldwide, formally announces its 4G/LTE Network Evolution Services & Solutions Suite today at the beginning of this year’s Rural Cellular Association Competitive Carriers Global Expo.  With this offering, XIUS will bring to bear the expertise, knowledge, infrastructure, solutions, and services required by RCA members to evolve their existing 2G/3G networks for delivery of 4G services to their subscribers – and to do so timely and cost-effectively.
With its years of mobile network and infrastructure design, development and operational experience, XIUS believes that there are solutions to the current challenges that appear to be inhibiting 4G network element and services rollout.  Such challenges include:

  • Planning and deploying a next generation broadband network that stretch operator resources to the limit
  • Supporting and maintaining one’s existing 2G/3G subscriber base while building tomorrow’s 4G network which compounds workload for existing staff
  • A broadband network overlay that can be a significant investment
  • Finding innovative solutions that entice subscribers to your network, and managing those by oneself, is a daunting undertaking

XIUS’s 4G/LTE Network Evolution Services & Solutions Suite addresses all of these challenges with a disciplined and structured approach to assessing  each mobile operator’s specific 4G network and services situation; what network elements you have today, what elements you need for tomorrow, when you need them, where you need them (hosted or co-located), and how they get paid for.  As well, we enable solutions needed to offer the types of 4G services that subscribers desire including high speed data services, video streaming, mobile TV, mobile video conferencing, enhanced location based services, HD voice or video, video broadcasting, video-based monitoring, and more.

In announcing XIUS’s new 4G/LTE Network Evolution Services & Solution program, G.V. Kumar, CEO of XIUS, said, “XIUS has traditionally been associated with prepaid mobile services delivery in the minds of the U.S. mobile marketplace.  In parallel, we have long been supplying network consulting, infrastructure, solutions and support to international mobile operators and MVNOs.” He further added, “We are excited to further introduce and educate the U.S. mobile operators to the broader suite of network solutions that XIUS has to offer and how we can enable the delivery of enhanced 4G services and solutions to both operators and their subscribers.”

23-Nov-2010 | XIUS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES TYPE 2 SAS 70 AUDIT

WOBURN, MASS. – November 23, 2010

XIUS, a leader in delivering innovative telecom solutions for mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide, is pleased to announce that it has recently completed a service auditor’s review, commonly known as SAS 70 audit, of its Real-Time Subscriber Management System. The audit was performed by a nationally recognized independent auditing firm, and was completed in September, 2010. Included in the scope of the audit were XIUS’s application control areas. The general controls that support these activities were also examined. Following this rigorous examination, the auditing firm was able to issue an unqualified opinion regarding each of the areas described below.

SAS 70 is an acronym for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Statement on Auditing Standard (SAS) No. 70, titled “Reports on the Processing of Transactions by Service Organizations”. SAS No. 70 defines the professional standards used by a service auditor to assess the internal controls of a service organization and issue a service auditor’s report.

In order to complete the audit, XIUS management developed certain control objectives for the significant areas of internal control that support the Real-Time Subscriber Management System. The control objectives in the 2010 report addressed each of the following areas:

  • Transaction Processing
  • Customer Transaction Reports
  • Changes and Enhancements to Applications
  • Changes to System Hardware and Software
  • Logical Access
  • Production Processing and Backups

XIUS’s service auditor performed extensive testing of these control activities that have been implemented by XIUS to help ensure that our control objectives are met.

The service auditor’s testing allowed them to opine on (i) whether the description of the controls prepared by XIUS presents fairly, in all material respects, the relevant aspects of the XIUS’s controls that had been placed in operation as of September 30, 2010, (ii) whether the controls were suitably designed to provide reasonable assurance that the specified control objectives would be achieved if those controls were complied with satisfactorily; and (iii) whether the controls that were tested were operating with sufficient effectiveness to provide reasonable, but not absolute, assurance that the control objectives were achieved during the review period of October 1, 2009 to September 30, 2010.

XIUS’s management understands the ever increasing importance of corporate governance and internal controls. The successful completion of the 2010 SAS 70 audit is only part of XIUS’s continued commitment to maintaining a high level of internal control.

WOBURN, MASS. – May 11, 2010

XIUS, a leader in delivering innovative telecom solutions for mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide, today announced the market offering of the latest version of its INfinet prepaid solution, available immediately.

XIUS’s INfinet Prepaid solution is designed to be the service provider’s central platform for real-time rating & charging, flexible plan offerings, and value-added services. The core principle behind the INfinet roadmap has always been to evolve services that facilitate the movement of funds in and out of the prepaid subscriber’s account in line with the industry direction. Ten years ago, the emphasis was on real-time call control, bad debt reduction in prepaid roaming, and top-up. BEDFORD, MASS. – August 11, 2008

XIUS, a leader in delivering innovative telecom solutions for mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide and the telecom division of Megasoft Limited, today announced the launch of its eCogNito solution – an end-to-end mobile transaction platform. This launch will be offered as a pilot to Bharti Airtel, India’s leading integrated telecom company, under a memorandum of understanding signed between the two companies.

“Our eCogNito solution offers Mobile Network Operators a quantum leap in operational efficiency of their revenue assurance systems by providing anytime, anywhere electronic talk time charging and bill payment in self service mode,” said Sunny DeWakar, president of XIUS’s eCogNito division. “Additionally, it simplifies and speeds up day-to-day mobile transactions and is an ideal replacement for smart cards that are currently being used for different applications.”

“We have generated early interest with the current launch of our mobile commerce service in India, and we already have more than 260,000 customers signed up,” said Pallab Mitra, head of m-Commerce for Bharti Airtel. “We believe that the solutions being offered by XIUS will improve the ease of use and accessibility of new products and services that we plan to offer with our m-commerce initiatives.”

Bharti Airtel has more than 50 million users. With the company’s current rural initiatives, eCognNito’s ease of use solutions will improve accessibility, penetration and adoptions of Bharti Airtel’s m-commerce offerings to their rapidly growing customer base.

“Bharti Airtel is one of the most successful and innovative telecom providers in India. It has a strong reputation for providing world-class services to its more than 50 million subscribers,” said G.V. Kumar, CEO of XIUS. “We are pleased to have been chosen by such an industry leader to pilot our latest solution, which we are confident will allow operators worldwide to more quickly and easily rollout their m-commerce services.”

XIUS’s eCogNito solution extends the division’s Intellectual Property in embedded RFID, touch interfaces and secure flash controllers developed in partnerships with two leading international semiconductor companies to develop two unique products custom designed for mobile applications.

A network-agonistic Contact-less SIM/(U)SIM application based on an unique dual chip architecture with onboard cryptographic coprocessors, eCogNito is compliant with international industry standards in multiple verticals - GSM, 3GPP, ETSI (telecom), ISO 14443, Mifare™, FeliCa™, NFC (contact-less cards) and EMVCo (Visa, CAST), VGP, as well as GlobalPlatform (Banking).

Another innovation, designed with state-of the-art printed electronics technology, is a paper-thin self-service terminal device with through-the-glass touch sensing termed Active Posters (APs). These can be mounted behind any retail shop with glass front, instantly transforming it into a 24x7 storefront.

To be issued by mobile network operators, the CL SIMs will work with the millions of existing handsets in-use, allowing consumers to perform contact-less transactions for prepaid recharge, electronic bill payment, booking movie tickets and accessing digital content, coupons/tokens on the move - all of this with easy-to-use and simple, but intuitive, touch of their handset to ‘target icons’ on the APs anywhere, anytime.

Consumers will also be able to touch their handsets to ‘target icons’ on APs placed in cafes, music shops, multiplexes, fast food restaurants, etc. to automatically set-up local, high-speed free data connections using multiple short-range wireless connectivity technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc.) and download rich media content like video clips, games and animations in minutes to their handset/memory cards.

Diemo aims to provide banking and payment services for un-served and underserved markets as well as mobile access. The company has also established strategic relationships with retail chains for selling its MVNO services and for serving as end distribution points for its mobile-driven, real-time cash transfer offerings.

Diemo will partner with Digitel, the GSM operator in Venezuela, for the first such real-time cash transfer-focused MVNO in the country. It plans to roll out similar country-specific MVNOs across several countries in the South American region, starting with Colombia in late 2008. Other countries will be announced in the coming weeks. XIUS will be responsible for the supply and turnkey management of the customized core network infrastructure for enabling Diemo’s mobile launch through its multi-country rollout.

Announcing the deal, G.V. Kumar, CEO of XIUS, said, “XIUS is very excited about the opportunity to work with such a pioneering organization as Diemo. The Mobile Services Platform is a natural fit for Diemo’s networks in Venezuela and beyond. 13-Feb-2008 | XIUS Receives Allowance of its Mexican Patent Application for Parental Control Technology

Innovative Mobile Guardian Solution Allows Subscribers to Act as “Guardians” for All Lines on Their Accounts

BARCELONA – February 13, 2008

XIUS, a leader in delivering innovative, revenue-generating solutions to mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide, today announced that the Mexican patent office has allowed XIUS’s Mexican patent application pertaining to the supervisory controls of wireless communications. The company will be discussing this technology this week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in Hall 1 Stand G63.

This allowance follows the issuance of U.S. patents 7,197,321; 7,206,569 and 7,218,912, which also relate to the supervisory control of wireless communications. This patented technology is at the core of the company’s Mobile Guardian solution, which combines powerful access management capabilities with leading-edge content-filtering technology.

Mobile Guardian provides operators with a product that allows consumer and enterprise subscribers to act as “guardians” for all lines on their accounts, monitoring and managing mobile content, voice and SMS usage in real time.

Mobile Guardian puts management tools directly into the hands of subscribers, allowing them to select content categories, create specific contact lists, customize usage settings and define allowances to meet their specific needs.

“In today’s mobile environment, access management is critical, as inappropriate and dangerous content is becoming pervasive,” said G.V Kumar, CEO of XIUS. “Our Mobile Guardian solution is especially important for operators who want to help parents shield their children from this type of content. Subscribers are demanding access management, and we believe this is a service that will differentiate the mobile operators who provide it.”

11-Feb-2008 | XIUS unveils INergy™

XIUS Announces INergy™, a breakthrough Intelligent Network Offload Solution

Solution allows wireless carriers to offload network traffic without expensive upgrades

BARCELONA – February 11, 2008

XIUS, a leader in delivering innovative, revenue-generating solutions to mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide, today announced INergy, an IN offload solution, which allows wireless telecommunication carriers to offload traffic from their existing IN session control and prepaid applications without expensive capacity expansions and/or network upgrades. The XIUS IN offload solution therefore vastly reduces the traditional costs associated with handling surges in traffic. XIUS executives discuss this and more at booth 1G63 at Mobile World Congress, taking place today through February 14th at the Fira de Barcelona.

“We are very pleased to bring INergy to market,” said Ersin Galioglu, COO of XIUS. “To effectively compete in today’s mobile telecommunications industry, mobile network operators must continually drive their operating costs down. INergy drastically reduces the cost of offloading traffic, so that operators can more efficiently deliver services and thereby increase profit margins.”

In the effort to stem the expense of upgrading an IN to the next capacity tier, XIUS allows carriers to route all traffic through the IN offload platform’s intelligent routing engine. The routing engine uses carrier-defined criteria for determining call traffic flow, allowing the carrier to send only required traffic through to the IN platform. This allows the carrier to extend the length of time they stay within the licensed parameters for the IN network components and defer upgrade expense. The solution achieves this by offloading the processing of select prepaid call traffic onto the XIUS platform. XIUS also can customize the solution to process regular subscriber traffic in addition to prepaid users. INergy is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2008.

The deal with XIUS strengthens our position as a leading MVNO Enabler that offers one-stop-MVNO and wholesale solutions for both MVNOs and MNOs irrespective of country borders.”

The infrastructure supporting our MVNO solutions must be reliable, flexible and scalable, and XIUS technology is a natural fit. We chose this solution to enhance our speed to market and for its unique ability to provide flexibility in pricing, branding and service management across multiple countries.”

Both parties expect the global MVNO market to develop in much the same way as other regions including the Benelux, Scandinavia and the UK.

11-Feb-2008 | Zain (Bahrain) Deploys XIUS’s InstaRoam™ Roaming Solution for its 36+ Million subscribers

XIUS Extends Reach in Fast-Growing Middle East Market

BARCELONA Mobile World Congress 2008 – February 11, 2008

XIUS, a leader in delivering innovative, revenue-generating solutions to mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide, and International Agencies Company Limited, INTERCOL, a Bahraini based diversified conglomerate with over 50 years of business, today announced that Zain Bahrain has deployed XIUS’s InstaRoam product to provide roaming service for start-up mobile operators and to enhance its roaming services. Zain Bahrain is part of Zain Group, a leading wireless service provider in seven Middle Eastern and 15 sub-Saharan African countries. The operator currently provides services to more than 42 million subscribers.

XIUS’s InstaRoam offers instant roaming access with a single agreement into more than 500 networks in more than 250 countries. The solution eliminates complex testing procedures and the need for securing operator agreements, and its dual-IMSI architecture gives customers a global roaming footprint. Competing roaming technologies normally take several man years to build, inevitably leading to subscriber churn and loss of revenue. With InstaRoam, operators are able to deploy roaming capabilities within a matter of weeks.

Intercol has partnered with XIUS to cover three geographies namely kingdom of Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

“It is our mission to provide world-class, high-quality mobile services to each of our subscribers worldwide, and we pride ourselves in giving customers seamless connectivity no matter their location,” said Dr Ahmed Al Shatti, chief operating officer of Zain (Bahrain). “To fulfill our quality guarantee, we partner with only the industry’s top solutions providers. XIUS is supplying the technology and support we require to maintain our reputation for quality and innovation.”

“EMEA continues to be one of the world’s fastest growing regions for mobile services, and Zain Bahrain marks an important deployment in this critical region,” said Ersin Galioglu, chief operating officer of XIUS. “It is a true testament to the quality of our solutions and support to be chosen by such a major player in this region.”
